William Ryan

William Ryan is an Associate Professor in the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon. Ryan has worked in newspaper, magazine, identity, advertising, and corporate design and has designed for such clients as National Public Radio, Apple Computer, and Hinman Vineyards. Ryan holds a doctorate degree in Media Systems and has received Mellon, Kellogg, and Fulbright fellowships.

Ryan has also conducted many design seminars and workshops nationally - and even internationally, in Singapore and Malaysia. His research and reviews have been published widely in a number of journals, including Journalism Educator, Visual Resources Journal, Visual Communications Quarterly, The Asian Journal of Communication, and Independent Publisher.
